Simple, to see where people stand in terms of consumptions... A mini version of consumers reports if you will. But I actually wanted to see how people look at life through the eyes of consumptions... Often time, people become too driven to work hard and spend hard without loving hard... Well, that's just me... I like to see how people think, that's probably my best reason as to why I've posted this question an its poll...

Well, I personally would buy an item only to serve its purpose of meeting my needs, as a necessity... I don't think it's worth buying the Rolex even if I can afford it... It's a waste, because no matter how wealthy I am, I would still feel it's a waste... Bill Gates wouldn't pay a few dollars for parking, but he would donate millions to charity... That's because he feels it's a waste to pay for parking when he can walk a little to get to his destination... Anyways, that's just me, but it's interesting you're willing to spend extra for the social status...

hehe so finally it all comes down to personal preferences. If everyone is like you, companies like Rolex go out of business :D but lucky for them, there are plenty pple out there that aren't like you hehe

hehe... I love it when people think you don't understand them although you perfectly understand them but are just speaking to them in a nice tone and with respect... Hilarious, I know... :)

Well, I know lots of people whose parents are doctors and lawyers, but they never wanted to be a doctor or a lawyer, they wanted to be themself and make their own choices... It's not always the external stimuli that motivates a person to choose a certain career path. Although the external stimili can give you insight to help make your decisions... We are all unique individuals and our decisions come from our minds, whether you choose to follow someone's foot step or not... Your mind is where most of your decisions comes from, not your environment... Although some people often choose to let their environment do the thinking for them... Anyways, if you're a thinking person, then it's your mind that motivates you not your environment...

Well, if you choose to look for happiness in materialistic possession, then by all means go right ahead... I'm sure you won't find it there. Many people have committed suicide even though they're among the rich and famous... Simply put, I believe happiness can be found within those you love (not necessarily your family)...

Well of course, that's why I wouldn't buy something for the prestige or the admiration of others... That's because it's like buying junk to me. :) You get my point now? But if you believe in the idea of "whatever makes you happy", then good luck to you and keep searching... You might find that happiness is simply in those you love someday...

First of all, I doubt u understood my point cuz u didn't answer what I wanted to know
Second of all, I did not disrespect ur opinions... if you mistook me... sorry. :)

The bolded red... by saying that you AGREE sometimes external stimuli can be a motivational source. thank you.

you didn't answer my question: So are you rejecting my multiple sources of happiness or you are trying to make point that loved ones are the "PRIMARY" sources of happiness, as in loved ones are not the only thing that make you happy, but they are the most essential happiness?

Bolded Green: material posession is not my ONLY happiness... it is only one of the things that Temporary brings me happiness. Once again to me there are different ways to be happy b/c they fulfill me in different ways... I don't restrict myself to just one source.

You don't wast your money on other's opinions. When you buy something it is more likely for your own enjoyment. You buy things b/c you like them period. If others are in awe it is only b/c u have great stuffs. Quality stuffs are admirable, don't you think? If I have a watch that you happen to like.. that's admiring... you see i didn't buy it for you to like me better or like my watch.. i bought it b/c it is pretty, reliable and endurable, which are qualities hard for you to resist.

if I bought that rolex for $2000... I'm sure it is way better than a $15 watch in many ways, don't you agree since you really agree tiền nào của náy? if you didn't know the price at first you might say, "wow where did you get that watch? It is gorgeous!" After I tell you the price, you might draw back from it and say, "Oh man, it is gorgeous, but too expensive for such a tiny thing." Then you might not even look into it anymore although u might still admire it. If the price didn't come in, you would have admired the watch more... (if you walk around with that watch, how many people care to ask the price? They glance at you and only notice your posession) The point is the person owning a $2000 watch not only enjoying the long lasting quality of that watch, but as well as it looks nyce on them... at least it looks nicer than a $15 watch. :kk:

I have a feeling that you ask me what is the point of looking nice when you don't have to spend that much for the same function.... =)) me pó tay... my answer is, "I LIKE TO LOOK NICE chứ sao." :kk:

I wouldn't spend that much money on a watch if buying a cheaper one had the same quality. I usually just buy for necessity unless the quality isn't good so I would settle for a more expensive one.
